Do you find yourself working with limited space? Having to research or create your own ways to make some extra space in your home? If not, consider yourself lucky! Now don’t get me wrong, I actually prefer a smaller space compared to getting lost in your own home.
But there are times when I find myself having to decide whether to get rid of certain things or come up with some unique way of keeping it without looking like a hoarder. So I’ve got a few ways to conserve some space in your home without having to get rid of anything just yet.
Wall Space
If you’re like me and have some blank wall space available in your home, I’ve got an awesome space-saver hack for you! Get yourself a few block shelves (I had a set lying around) and clear up some clutter. This one also works great if you’re working with limited counter space (anyone else?)
You can also go the DIY route and make yourself some that fit not only your space just right, but also your lifestyle! One of the coolest parts is how it not only creates more space for your necessities, but it also gives it cool decor feel to it!
Kitchen Hack
This next one is great if you find yourself using every spare bit of counter and pantry space you have – a roll away spice rack! There are some fancy ones you can buy online, but I decided to make my own because, as you know, I’m obsessed with DIY projects.
Get yourself some general purpose wood, dowels, finishing nails, castors, and wood glue. (The whole project cost about $40 but could’ve been made cheaper.) Simply measure out how big you want it to be, cut the wood, and nail it together. Then screw on the castors to the bottom and glue the dowels to create shelf stoppers. Add any kind of handle you like, and voilá!
Jewelry Art
This one is great if you have to sit there and untangle your jewelry before you’re able to put it on. It works best for earrings, (I have a jewelry tree stand for my necklaces/rings) but I’m sure it could work for all jewelry with enough craftiness and determination!
I’ll start by saying that if you have never done macrame before, it’s a lot easier than it looks! You can also start with a small project like I did, and if you feel inspired then keep going! All I did was buy some stretchy yarn fabric and a dowel, and watched a YouTube video. Plus, it took me about half the time I originally thought it would take!
Keep Your Stuff!
If you’re interested in keeping a few things around longer and could use the extra space, definitely give one of these a try! They are super easy, take minimum time and skill, and add a bit of personality to your home! Working with about 550 square feet, these storage hacks have really helped me out!
