Simple As Could Be

Ever Feel Like One Of Those Days?

Most of my blogs in 2020 were focused on how I could help others. From how-tos to hacks to resources and more, I just want to feel that I can possibly make a difference in just one other person’s life.

2021 was going to a year for transformation. It was going to be a year of focusing on the future rather than solely focusing on the present. Was being the key word.

However, within the first day of the new year, my life was hit with devastating news. And I’m not going to get into it because there is still so much that is unknown.

I was honestly considering not even doing a blog this week, because there’s just so much going on. But this work is so important to me that I was at a crossroads mentally and emotionally.

That’s when it hit me.

I don’t need to feel bad for having a day that I want to say ‘F**k it’. I don’t need to feel bad for having normal human emotions and then needing time to process and work through them.

There’s nothing wrong with me for feeling like this at all (as opposed to what old me would’ve believed). But I know that if I battle with myself mentally for not doing what ‘should’ be done, it’s not going to make me feel any better.

And I know I’m not the only person dealing with this mental battle. So the only reason I’m still writing this blog is to tell you that it’s okay to have those days.

It’s okay to feel overwhelmed and stressed and confused and scared and to not want to do anything that isn’t absolutely necessary. But that means you’ve still gotta dust yourself off and put on your adult pants and do the things that are absolutely necessary.

No one can tell you what those things are either. It’s up to you and you alone to decide what’s worth it. What’s worth fighting through the sh*tstorm to get accomplished and what’s worth fighting your own mental stigma about being good enough.

So if you have periods of doubt, know that you’re still a good person. You’re still a hard worker. You’re still a good Momma. Whatever it is you think you aren’t, you still are!

Today may be one of those days where I just say ‘F**k it’. But you can bet I’m taking care of myself so that I can get back to taking care of business!

And if you’re in need of a remedy on how to get past these types of days, check out ETM’s blog here!

As always, thank you so very much for being a part of ETM’s community of Mommas! I encourage you to join discussions, interact with Mommas alike, and be unapologetically yourself! Until next time, I hope I’m able to help make your life as simple as could be. (:

With all my love, Brandolyn – Earth To Momma
