Whether you’re a new Momma, a Momma-To-Be, or dreaming of the day you’ll get to become a Momma, chances are you have a wish or few for your Little One(s).
Most likely, you have some big wishes for your Littles, along with some smaller (but still just as important) wishes for them too. Each with its own level of significance, each with its own level of sentiment.
Just as likely, you have some wishes for your Littles that are considered a given, as well as wishes that are special. From the first steps to the first successful potty. From their first word all the way to ‘I do.”
Although I haven’t been lucky enough to become a Momma just yet, I have some special wishes for my future children. And I thought I’d share them with you.
So, here are my 5 wishes for my future Littles:
1) I Hope You Aren’t Afraid To Be Yourself
My wish for you is that you always feel comfortable and confident to speak what’s on your mind. Do not be afraid to be who you truly are, without fear of judgment or ridicule.
2) I Hope You Learn The Value of Happiness
My wish for you is that you always know the difference between what the world portrays to you as being happy and the true feeling of happiness you create for yourself. Do not let anyone decide for you what makes you happy.
3) I Hope You Experience Life Unfiltered
My wish for you is that you always chase your dreams, no matter how silly and unconventional. Do not let life pass you by. Get out there and experience all that life has to offer.
4) I Hope You Love Passionately and Compassionately
My wish for you is that you act with love and kindness in all that you do. Do not be tempted by anger and sadness. Love, even if it seems like the harder option.
5) I Hope You Never Forget To Enjoy The Moment
My wish for you is that you always remember that now is the only time we have control over. Do not be so focused on the past or future that you forget you have the power to change your life now.
What are your wishes for your Littles? Are there grand and spectacular ones like growing up to be the first female president? (We still haven’t had one yet!) Are there smaller and easier ones like having respect for right/wrong and others?
Are there ones that are special and unique to your family and situation? Perhaps, ‘I Hope You Always Remember That You Can Do Anything.’ I always know there is the possibility of having a Little that might need some extra help and attention. Does that mean that disabilities are limiting? Maybe a little, but we sure as heck are going to give it our best shot first!
No matter what your wishes for your Littles are, I’m sure not only are they special to you, but will help shape them into the amazing young adults we know they’re capable of becoming. So if they really matter to you, it’s up to you to help them learn!
